The green manufacturing awards recognise companies and individuals who have made significant contributions towards green manufacturing in the fashion apparel industry. These awards celebrate innovations that promote eco-friendly manufacturing practices and reduce environmental impact.

This award is open to any sustainable apparel manufacturer in South Asia that has done remarkably well in waste reduction.

The Excellence in Waste Reduction award recognises fashion companies that have made significant progress in reducing waste, either by recycling program or by finding innovative ways to repurpose waste materials.

Eligibility for this award is open to factories of all sizes and stages of development, who have implemented innovative waste reduction practices. Applicants must submit evidence that demonstrates their efforts to reduce waste throughout their operations, such as details on raw material reduction, chemical/dye reduction, fabric waste reduction etc.

The jury for this award comprises a panel of experts from the fashion and sustainability sectors. The panel evaluates nominations based on the evidence provided by factories in the field of innovative waste reduction practices in the mentioned areas.

This award is for any sustainable apparel manufacturer in South Asia which has best of closed-loop practices in its supply chain.

The Closed Loop Fashion Supply Chain Leader of the Year Award aims to recognise and reward factories that have made significant contributions towards building a circular fashion supply chain for themselves by reusing or recycling materials at every stage of production, reducing the need for virgin resources.

The award will be given to companies that have demonstrated exceptional leadership in the adoption of closed-loop practices in their manufacturing supply chain. Factories of all sizes are eligible to apply.

The finalists and winners will be selected by Jury members based on the evidence submitted by factories that range from creative practices in closed-loop supply chain to the scalability of such initiatives.

Award is open to any small or mid-sized sustainable apparel manufacturer, certified or non-certified, located in South Asia that has achieved excellence in sustainable operations

The Best Green SME of the Year award will be bestowed upon factories that have embraced one strong sustainable practice with tangible impacts on either of these areas – environment, work welfare, manufacturing shop floor, recycling, packaging material, washing, social etc.

Eligibility for this award is open to all apparel manufacturers (SME) that put sustainability as part of their DNA and have implemented sustainable manufacturing practices. Applicants must submit evidence that demonstrates their efforts to reduce environmental impact and improve sustainability, such as details on energy efficiency measures, use of renewable energy sources, waste reduction initiatives, and worker safety and well-being practices.

The jury for this award comprises a panel of experts from the apparel and sustainability sectors. The panel evaluates submissions based on a range of criteria, including their ability to inspire and lead others in the industry towards sustainable manufacturing.

TECH FOR GOOD

Awards in Technology are to recognise companies and individuals for their contributions in the development and promotion of sustainable technologies in the fashion and apparel industry.

The award is open to individuals in fashion retail, manufacturing and technology that bring substantial shift through sustainable fashion tech.

Tech Champion of the Year 2023 award recognises individuals who have developed tech to help fashion brands and retailers to forward the sustainable agenda.

Nominations for this award are open to self-nomination. The individual should be one of the founding members of the company and eligible individuals must have the tech registered by their names. To be considered for the award, nominees must provide clear examples of the objectives that the tech has achieved and now it has positively transformed the industry's thinking and operations, along with evidence of the initiative's positive impact and outcomes.

The Tech Champion of the Year 2023 will be chosen by the Jury constituted by Apparel Resources. We encourage all eligible individuals to submit nominations for themselves or their colleagues and celebrate the positive impact they have had on the industry.

The award is open to any fashion technology company that helps accelerate the industry’s sustainable initiatives in South Asia.

Sustainable Technology of the Year award celebrates companies that have been helping brands, retailers and manufacturers in being sustainable through tech integration. The technologies which are taken into consideration are Blockchain, Digital ID, Traceability Software, New-Age Washing Equipment, 3D Software among many others which focus on strengthening sustainable initiatives of the fashion companies.

Nominations for this award are open to all fashion technology companies having forte in the domain. Nominees must provide clear evidence of the registered tech and how it is helpful in the industry.


The finalists will be shortlisted by a jury established by Apparel Resources and it is strongly recommended that all eligible companies submit nominations and let us help them acknowledge and honour the positive impact of sustainable technologies in the fashion industry.

This rare award category is open to retailers or manufacturers who are proven users of sustainable fashion technology in South Asia.

Best Use of Technology for Good accolade aims at recognising the users of sustainable technologies, be it in areas of retail or processes in manufacturing supply chain.

Nominations for this award are open to self-nomination done by a company, whereas tech firms can also nominate the best of their users for this category.

The jury will shortlist the users on the basis of evidence that need to be submitted. The required evidence can be in the form of case studies, comparative study of before/after scenarios or a proper video of how technology is making changes in the existing processes.

SOCIAL IMPACT

Social impact awards recognise initiatives that promote fair labour practices, improve worker welfare, and positively impact communities. By highlighting these efforts, sustainability awards encourage the industry to prioritise social responsibility alongside environmental sustainability.

The award is open to a fashion individual who works to uplift society’s standards in South Asia.

Social Champion of the Year 2023 award recognises individuals who are driving positive social change in their organisation and the wider fashion industry through exceptional commitment to Social Impact.

Nominations for this award are open to both self-nomination and colleague nomination and eligible candidates must work for or own a fashion apparel brand or be a fashion apparel retailer or an apparel manufacturing unit.

To be considered for the award, nominees must provide clear examples of the initiatives they have taken that have positively transformed the company's thinking and operations, along with evidence of the initiative's positive impact and outcomes.

Social Champion of the Year 2023 will be chosen by the Jury constituted by Apparel Resources. We encourage all eligible individuals to submit nominations for themselves or their colleagues and celebrate the positive impact they have had on the industry.

This award is for any apparel manufacturer in South Asia which has addressed and solved key social issues within its organisation.

Excellence in Worker Welfare Award celebrates the manufacturing factories that have developed and implemented innovative solutions to promote social impact and sustainability within their company among their workforce. This could include initiatives related to worker empowerment, welfare schemes and workers’ financial stability.

The nominations for this award are open to factories that have taken extraordinary initiatives to empower their workforce. To be eligible for the award, the nominees are required to provide compelling examples of the initiatives for workers they have undertaken, which have transformed the company's work life positively.

The Jury, constituted by Apparel Resources, will go through the nominations and shortlist the finalists based on the documents shared by them or by the nominees.

Apparel manufacturers in South Asia which have done tremendous community building outside their organisation are eligible for this award.

The award aims to recognise those factories that have made a positive impact on the local community outside their organisations, such as by providing job opportunities or supporting community initiatives.

The award is open to factories that have implemented remarkable CSR activities to strengthen communities such as donating to support a cause, adopting a village, or providing free education to the rural areas where the factory is located at.

Eligible factories must have a track record of engaging with their community on a regular basis. The finalists and winners will be selected by the esteemed Jury members, constituted by Apparel Resources, basis the evidences of community engagement provided by factories.

This award is open to any apparel manufacturer in South Asia which has seamlessly integrated diversity and inclusivity in its business model.

Diversity & Inclusion Award will hail factories that have demonstrated a commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in their supply chain, such as by implementing policies to address discrimination and promote inclusion for all workers.

To be considered for the award, nominees must provide required details in form of documents, videos, pictures, presentations as to how they are supporting diversity and inclusion, and on what grounds!

The Jury members will select the best factory that stands out among all the nominees based on the comparative study that will be done using submitted details by factories.

Award is open to any D2C apparel brand in India that has done tremendous community building outside their organisation.

The award aims to recognise those D2C fashion brands that have made a positive impact on the local community through remarkable CSR activities, such as by providing job opportunities, supporting community initiatives, donating to support a cause, adopting a village, or providing free education to the rural areas.

RETAIL RIGHT

Sustainability awards celebrate fashion apparel retailers and brands that prioritise eco-friendly practices and promote sustainability in their operations. These awards recognise initiatives that reduce the industry’s environmental impact and encourage ethical and sustainable business practices.

The award is open to any individual working with a fashion brand/retailer which stands out in its sustainability initiatives.

Sustainable Fashion Champion 2023 award recognises individuals who have driven a sustainable shift within their organisation and the wider fashion industry through exceptional leadership and commitment to positive change.

Nominations for this award are open to both self-nomination and colleague nomination, and eligible candidates must work for or own a fashion apparel brand or be a fashion apparel retailer.

To be considered for the award, nominees must provide clear examples of at least one initiative they have led in the past year that has positively transformed the industry's thinking and operations, along with evidence of the initiative's positive impact and outcomes.

Ethical Fashion Brand of the Year Award recognizes the fashion brands that have made it a norm in their business to adopt ethical practices such as fair trade, responsible manufacturing, use of sustainable materials, and transparent supply chains.

The nominations should come from brands and retailers that have proven examples of their ethical business practices.

The Jury, instituted by Apparel Resources, will look into applications and shortlist the D2C fashion brands that have made excellent progress in their businesses through ethical values.


Award is open to any D2C fashion brand that demonstrates exceptional commitment to ethical practices.

Ethical D2C Fashion Brand of the Year Award recognizes D2C fashion brands that have made it a norm in their business to adopt ethical practices such as fair trade, responsible manufacturing, use of sustainable materials, and transparent supply chains.

The nominations should come from D2C brands that have proven examples of their ethical sourcing chain.

The award will be given by the Jury, instituted by Apparel Resources, that will shortlist the fashion brands that have made substantial and proven progress through their ethical values in their business operations.


This award is open to fashion retailers that have created stores in the most sustainable way.

The Sustainable Store Design award celebrates a retail store that exhibits exceptional sustainable design and visual merchandising efforts. The store should strike a balance between strong sustainable design, creativity and effective presentation of products that are appropriate for the brand and its customer base.

This award category is open to retailers which wish to nominate themselves, or they can be nominated by their appointed design agency or architect. The judges will be looking for stores that stand out in terms of their design aesthetics and innovative use of materials, while also displaying a strong commitment to sustainability.

The winning store will be recognised for its exemplary sustainable store design, setting an industry standard for other retailers to follow.

Any fashion brand/retailer whose circularity approach brings the most visible changes in its processes is eligible for this award.

The Best Circularity Award recognises the efforts of fashion retailers or brands that have made significant progress towards adopting a more circular business model.

The company should be relying on circularity principles that aim at minimising waste and maximising the use of existing resources. This can include the use of sustainable materials, such as recycled or upcycled fabrics or subscription models that extend the lifespan of garments.

The Jury will also consider the retailer’s overall sustainability strategy and its impact on the environment and society. This can include initiatives to reduce emissions, eliminate hazardous chemicals or promote ethical practices.

Award is open to any D2C fashion brand that excels in implementing circular economy principles in the fashion industry.

Circular Fashion Innovator of The Year Award acknowledges D2C fashion brands who have initiated circularity principles such as innovative take-back programs, upcycling initiatives, rental or resale models, or product designs that promote longevity and reduce waste.

The Jury will consider the brands overall sustainability strategy and its impact on the business model. This can include revenue streams, reduction of overconsumption, customer awareness, and community building.

This award is open to any fashion brand/retailer that has run the most creative and successful customer engagement campaign on sustainability.

The award is intended to honour the most effective marketing campaign executed by a fashion brand or retailer, either individually or in partnership. The campaign should creatively and credibly convey the brand's sustainability journey. The campaign could focus on educating customers about the impact of the fashion industry on the environment or the treatment of workers in the supply chain.

The judges will scrutinise the campaigns that have successfully cut through the noise and achieved their objectives of engaging with both new and existing customers. They will also assess the campaign's effectiveness in raising awareness about the importance of sustainability in fashion.

This award is open to any fashion brand/retailer that has proved re-commerce can be a successful revenue stream, while ensuring sustainability in the business model.

Re-commerce Award celebrates the emergence of circular fashion companies, which are changing the industry's traditional linear model of production and consumption. The award is open to fashion rental, resale and upcycling companies that are on circular values, such as renting or buying and selling second-hand clothing.

The judges will be looking for evidence of company’s growth after opting for re-commerce model, both in terms of brand awareness and financial performance. Companies that have successfully expanded their customer base, generated significant revenue and established new collaborations and partnerships will stand out in this category.

The jury will consider the innovative strategies and techniques used by these companies to further their circular goals, such as the use of advanced methods to improve the efficiency of their re-commerce operations.

Fashion brands/retailers that prioritise ethical practices in their sourcing strategies are eligible for this award.

Excellence in Ethical Sourcing Award recognises brands and retailers that have made it a norm in their business to source ethically-made apparel and support the sustainable supply chain.

The nominations should come from brands that have proven examples of their ethical sourcing chain and they can demonstrate they support workers’ livelihood by paying a living wage.

The Jury, constituted by Apparel Resources, will look into applications and shortlist the brands/retailers that have made excellent progress in their sourcing practices through ethical values.

MATERIAL INNOVATION

The material innovation awards honour the efforts of those who have developed sustainable materials and those who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and innovation in promoting sustainable practices within their respective companies.

The award is open to any textile technologist and material innovator operating in South Asia who has commercially scaled up an innovation project on alternative textile materials.

Material Champion of the Year 2023 award recognises individuals who have driven a sustainable shift within their organisation and the wider fashion industry through exceptional leadership and commitment to positive change.

Nominations for this award are open to both self-nomination and colleague nomination and eligible candidates must work for or own a fashion fabric or yarn or accessory manufacturing unit. To be considered for the award, nominees must provide clear examples of at least one initiative they have led that has positively transformed the industry's thinking and operations, along with evidence of the initiative's positive impact and outcomes.

The Material Champion of the year 2023 will be chosen by the Jury constituted by Apparel Resources. We encourage all eligible individuals to submit nominations for themselves or their colleagues and celebrate the positive impact they have had on the industry.

The award is open to any manufacturer (textile and apparel), packaging company, design company and brand operating in South Asia which has done ground-breaking development in material innovation.

Open to all players in the textile and packaging industry including manufacturers, design companies and brands, this award acknowledges and honours new and creative materials that are not only environmental-friendly but are also commercially viable alternatives to traditional materials. The innovation must have been developed within the last one year, reflecting the latest and most ground-breaking advancements in sustainable materials.

Our expert panel of judges will evaluate each submission based on the extent to which it demonstrates sustainable credentials, its potential impact in reducing the industry's environmental footprint and its commercial viability.

This award is for any fashion brand, retailer and manufacturer which are sustainably sourcing from South Asia.

The Maximising Sustainable Material Sourcing Award recognises the efforts of the fashion companies that prioritise sustainability and demonstrate a commitment to responsible sourcing practices.

Applicants must submit evidence that demonstrates a commitment to sourcing sustainable materials such as organic cotton, recycled polyester, or Tencel.

The jury comprises a panel of experts from the fashion and sustainability sectors. The panel evaluates submissions based on a range of criteria, including the extent to which the applicant has implemented sustainable sourcing practices, the impact of

their practices on the environment and local communities and their ability to inspire and lead others in the industry towards sustainable material sourcing.
